This helps you to understand buffer requirements at lucid trading across different plans. Currently buffer is needed only for pro plans.
1. LucidPro: The Strategic Buffer
The LucidPro account is designed for traders who have passed the evaluation phase. Because this account uses a trailing drawdown that eventually “locks” at your starting balance, the firm requires a safety net—the Buffer.
- The Rule: Your balance must be above the Initial Max Loss Limit + $100.
- The Catch: You cannot withdraw the buffer itself. It must remain in the account to act as your risk capital.
- Payout Eligibility: If your balance dips into the buffer zone while your payout is being processed, the request will likely be denied.
LucidPro Buffer Thresholds by Account Size
| Account Size | Initial Max Loss Limit | Minimum Balance for Payout (Buffer) |
| $25,000 | $26,000 | $26,100 |
| $50,000 | $52,000 | $52,100 |
| $100,000 | $103,000 | $103,100 |
| $150,000 | $154,500 | $154,600 |
2. LucidFlex: No Buffer, High Agility
The LucidFlex plan has quickly become a favorite for 2026 because it removes the “Buffer Zone” entirely. This is ideal for traders who want to access their profits more aggressively without leaving a multi-thousand dollar cushion behind.
- The Rule: There are no buffer requirements.
- Requirement: You only need to ensure your balance stays above your Max Loss Limit until the payout is processed.
- Best For: Active scalpers or traders who prefer frequent, smaller withdrawals.
3. LucidDirect: Instant Funding, No Buffer
LucidDirect allows traders to skip the evaluation (LucidTest) and go straight to a funded account. Much like the Flex plan, it prioritizes ease of withdrawal.
- The Rule: No buffer requirement for payouts.
- The Breach Condition: While there is no buffer, the Max Loss Limit is absolute. If you hit this limit, the account is breached immediately, and any pending payouts are forfeited.
- Consistency Rule: Remember that Direct accounts often carry a stricter 20% Consistency Rule (no single day can be more than 20% of your total profit at the time of payout).
