If you trade Nasdaq futures on CME and want to take the same exposure on Vest, the question is simple: how many Vest contracts match my position? This calculator answers it by comparing how many dollars each contract makes or loses for every 1-point move in the Nasdaq index. Enter your CME size and it gives you the Vest size, or flip it and enter your Vest size to see what that equals in micros and minis.
Futures to Vest contract calculator
Match a CME NQ or MNQ position to Vest NQ by dollars of P&L per 1-point move, or flip it to see what your Vest position equals in micros and minis.
10 MNQ produces $20 of P&L for every 1-point Nasdaq move. At $1 per point per Vest contract, that equals 20 Vest contracts.
Advanced: contract values
Default is $1 per point. Only change this if Vest changes its contract specification.
Quick reference
| CME position | P&L per point | Equivalent |
|---|---|---|
| 1 MNQ | $2 | 2 Vest |
| 5 MNQ | $10 | 10 Vest |
| 10 MNQ | $20 | 20 Vest |
| 15 MNQ | $30 | 30 Vest |
| 1 NQ | $20 | 20 Vest |
| 2 NQ | $40 | 40 Vest |
Matches dollar P&L per 1.00 index-point move only. It does not account for margin, fees, spreads, slippage or differences in how each venue fills or settles. Defaults: NQ $20, MNQ $2 and Vest NQ $1 per point. Check current contract specifications before trading. Not financial advice.
How the Conversion Works
The calculator matches dollar profit and loss per point, nothing else. By default it uses these contract values: a CME NQ (E-mini) contract is worth $20 per 1.00 index point, a CME MNQ (Micro) contract is worth $2 per point, and a Vest NQ contract is worth $1 per point.
The formula is two steps. First, multiply your CME quantity by the dollars per point of that contract to get your total exposure per point. Second, divide that exposure by the dollars per point of one Vest contract. So 10 MNQ is $20 per point, and at $1 per point per Vest contract that equals 20 Vest contracts.
| CME position | P&L per point | Equivalent Vest NQ |
|---|---|---|
| 1 MNQ | $2 | 2 |
| 5 MNQ | $10 | 10 |
| 10 MNQ | $20 | 20 |
| 15 MNQ | $30 | 30 |
| 1 NQ | $20 | 20 |
| 2 NQ | $40 | 40 |
How to Use the Calculator
- Pick a direction. CME to Vest turns a futures position into Vest contracts. Vest to CME does the reverse, and your current result carries over when you flip.
- Choose the instrument. Select NQ or MNQ, or pick Custom and type in your own dollars per point.
- Enter the quantity. Type it in or drag the slider. You will see the exact result and the nearest whole contract, along with how much exposure the rounding changes.
- Check the Vest value per point. It starts at $1. If Vest changes its contract specification, edit the number and everything recalculates.
What the Calculator Doesn’t Cover
It matches dollar P&L per point and nothing more. It does not account for margin requirements, trading fees, spreads, slippage, or differences in how each venue fills orders or settles trades. Two positions with the same dollars per point can still end up with different results once those costs are included. Always check the current contract specifications on both CME and Vest before you place a trade. This is a sizing tool, not financial advice.
