What 100x on BTC Really Means
At 100x, a 1% move against a full size position wipes out the margin on it. Prop firms never let it get that far, because your daily loss limit is usually 3% to 5% of the account and it triggers first. So the leverage cap is almost never what limits a crypto trader. The drawdown is.
Where high leverage does help is capital efficiency. If you hold BTC, ETH and SOL positions together, higher leverage means less margin locked in each one, so you have room for all three. Firms that cut altcoin leverage to 2x or 3x make that much harder.
What to Check Besides Leverage
Look at the trading fee first. Perps firms charge per side, and on high leverage scalping that adds up fast. Then the funding or swap charge on open positions, which hurts if you hold for days. And then the coin list. A firm with 20x on 200 coins is often more useful than one with 100x on BTC and 3x on everything else.

If you only trade BTC and ETH, almost every firm near the top of this table gives you more leverage than your drawdown can use, so choose on fees, drawdown type and payouts.
