Blue Guardian Rules
Blue Guardian's CFD side runs five current models that share their conduct rules but differ on targets, drawdown and consistency. Every account is simulated, and you can trade on MetaTrader 5, Match-Trader or TradeLocker. The table below is the part to read first.
How the Models Compare
| Model | Targets | Daily Loss | Max Drawdown | Minimum Days | Consistency |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Instant Standard | None | 3% | 6% trailing | 5 profitable days to withdraw | 20% (15% on $300K and $400K) |
| 1 Step Standard | 9% (10% on accounts bought before August 20) | 4% | 6% trailing | 3 profitable days to pass | None |
| 1 Step Nano | 10% | 4% | 6% trailing | None to pass, 5 profitable days when funded | 50%, evaluation and funded |
| 2 Step Standard | 8% then 4% | 4% | 8% static | 3 profitable days to pass (5 on older accounts) | None |
| 2 Step Nano | 8% then 5% | 3% | 10% static | None | 50%, funded only |
A profitable day counts when you make at least 0.5% in that day, and the days don't need to be consecutive.
Daily Loss and Drawdown
The daily loss resets at 5pm EST. Blue Guardian takes the higher of your balance or equity at that moment and subtracts the daily limit from it. On a $100,000 account with a 4% limit, a $2,000 floating profit at the reset means your equity can't fall below $98,000 the next day. A $2,000 floating loss at the reset means the limit is worked out from your $100,000 balance instead, so the floor is $96,000.
The trailing drawdown on Instant, 1 Step Standard and 1 Step Nano follows your highest closed balance. Once you reach 6% profit it locks at your starting balance, and from then on 1% of the initial balance has to stay in the account whenever you withdraw. The static drawdown on the 2 Step models is fixed below your starting balance and measured on equity, including floating positions.
Guardian Shield
This applies to funded accounts on Instant, 1 Step Standard and 2 Step Standard. If your open trades reach a 2% floating loss (1% on Instant), the system closes all trades on all symbols. That's a soft breach and you can trade again straight away, but the first trigger permanently cuts your profit split to 50%, and the second one permanently breaches the account. It doesn't reset.
News Trading
News trading is allowed during evaluations. On funded accounts, you can't open or close trades 5 minutes before or after red-folder news, or around FOMC speeches, statements and events. Profit made inside that window, or influenced by it, can be removed without a violation. On Instant Standard accounts bought after 13 November 2025, this restriction applies from day one. It covers the relevant pairs, indices, metals and crypto tied to the currency in the release.
Holding Time, EAs and Copy Trading
Trades should be held for at least 2 minutes, and anything closed faster may be flagged as tick scalping. EAs are allowed if you set them up yourself. You can copy trade between accounts you legally own, including from an evaluation to a funded account or to your own outside accounts, but you can't copy another trader or let anyone else manage your account. VPNs and VPS are fine, as long as you're not using them to get around the copy trading, group trading or signal trading rules. Overnight and weekend holding are allowed on every model, and a stop loss isn't required.
Consistency
If your best single day is at or above the consistency level for your model, nothing is breached. Your payout button is simply unavailable until you've made enough extra profit that the best day falls below the level. At 20%, a $1,000 day means you need $5,000 of total profit in the period. At 50%, the same day means you need more than $2,000.
