Breakout Prop Rules

Breakout Prop Rules

Breakout runs two loss limits at once, a daily loss limit and a max drawdown, and breaching either one ends the account for good. There's no reset at any price, so a failed evaluation means buying a new one. The rules below cover the three current 1-Step variants, Classic, Pro and Turbo. Spark is a separate product and has its own section at the end. Every account is simulated, and the same rules carry over from the evaluation to the funded account.

Daily Loss Limit

It's 3% on Classic, Pro and Turbo. The limit isn't a fixed dollar figure and it doesn't go back to your starting balance. Every day at 00:30 UTC Breakout takes your account balance, with open positions left out, and sets your floor for the next 24 hours at 3% below it. A $105,000 balance at 00:30 UTC gives you a floor of $101,850. The floor is checked against live equity, so floating losses count.

One thing worth knowing: because open positions aren't in the snapshot, a trade that's already more than 3% underwater at 00:30 UTC puts your equity under the new floor straight away. 00:30 UTC also lands mid-session for traders in Asia, so plan around it.

Max Drawdown

It's static, measured from your initial balance and fixed there for the life of the account. It never trails your profit. A $100,000 Classic account has a floor at $94,000 whether the balance sits at $100,000 or $110,000.

Pro12%5%3%$5K to $200K
Turbo9%3%3%$5K to $200K

Time Limit, Minimum Days and Consistency

There's no time limit, no minimum number of trading days and no consistency rule on any 1-Step variant. You pass the moment you hit the target while staying inside both limits. After passing you still need to complete KYC and sign the Funded Trader Agreement before trading is enabled, which takes about 12 to 24 hours.

What's Allowed

You can trade through news events and hold positions over the weekend. Trading runs 24/7. Hedging inside a single account is allowed, and Hedge Mode is on by default, so you can hold a long and a short on the same asset at once.

What's Prohibited

Hedging across accounts is banned, meaning opposite positions on the same or correlated assets across any mix of evaluation and funded accounts, or coordinating opposite sides with another trader. Copying trades between traders' accounts is banned too. A confirmed violation ends all linked accounts, forfeits accrued profit and means a permanent suspension, though a first-time honest mistake can get a warning at Breakout's discretion.

The wider list covers exploiting pricing or platform errors or latency, using non-public information, front-running trades placed elsewhere, arbitraging your demo account against another account, using strategies sold specifically to pass evaluations, switching approach once you're funded, executing ideas copied from signals or social media, and sharing account access or trading several accounts from the same household, device or IP address. Strategies that are hard to replicate in live markets, like trades that would trigger auto-deleveraging, are also out.

Leverage is applied automatically per instrument and can change, so check Breakout's symbols page before sizing a position. Position size limits are listed there too.

Fees

The trading fee is 0.04% per side, which makes 0.08% round trip. If you hold a position at 00:00 UTC a daily swap of 0.033% per open position is taken from your demo balance. These are simulated, but they count toward your results. The evaluation fee is one-time and never refunded. There's no activation fee after you pass and no monthly platform fee.

Platforms

You can trade on the Breakout Terminal, a web and mobile app, or on DXTrade. There's no MetaTrader. The swap is charged differently depending on the terminal you use.

Account Limits

Your combined funded allocation is capped at $200,000 across all accounts. You can hold open positions and trade across all of them at once as long as the combined balance stays inside that cap.

Spark Evaluation

Spark is a $50,000 account with a $3,000 profit target and a $1,500 trailing loss limit. It's limited to the first 1,500 accounts. The limit sits $1,500 below your highest closed balance, recalculates once a day at 00:30 UTC and is enforced against equity. It keeps trailing after you're funded. Spark has no daily loss limit, no minimum trading days and no consistency rule. Indices go up to 40x and commodities up to 20x leverage, and crypto fees stay at 0.04% per side.

Eligibility

You complete KYC before a funded account is enabled, not at purchase. Breakout can't serve residents of sanctioned and several other countries, so check its eligibility list before you buy.
