E8 Futures Rules Explained: EOD Dynamic Drawdown, Consistency, and Daily Pause

E8 Futures runs two products - E8 Signature Futures and E8 Zero (in Starter and Max tiers) - both 1-step challenges on an EOD Dynamic Drawdown. The rules below apply across both unless noted.

Trading Hours

All positions force-close daily at 15:10 CT, with trading resuming at 17:00 CT. No overnight or weekend holding on either product.

EOD Dynamic Drawdown

Both products use the same drawdown mechanic: it only updates once per day at market close, so intraday swings never move it - what matters is where your balance closes, not where it dipped mid-session. It locks permanently once your balance reaches your original starting balance, after which the account can't fail below breakeven. E8 Signature sizes the drawdown as a fixed dollar amount per size; E8 Zero sizes it as 3% of the account balance.

Consistency Rule by Product

ProductConsistency RuleApplies To
E8 Signature FuturesNone in the Challenge, 35% once fundedFunded stage only - gates payout eligibility, doesn't restrict trading
E8 Zero (Starter & Max)40% in the Challenge, none once fundedChallenge only - completely gone once funded

The two products are mirror images of each other: Signature is unrestricted to pass but holds you to a 35% consistency rule for payouts afterward. Zero is stricter to pass (40%) but drops every restriction once you're funded.

Daily Risk Controls

E8 Signature applies a 2% Daily Pause once funded - a soft breach where trading stops for the rest of the day if your floating or closed loss hits 2% of that day's starting balance, resetting at midnight with no damage to the account. E8 Zero has no daily loss control of any kind, in either the Challenge or once funded.

Inactivity

Both products require a trade at least once every 7 days, in both the Challenge and funded stages - go longer than that with no trades and the account is disabled.

Payout Cycle & Account Lifespan

Both products cap an account at 5 payouts, after which you receive a free Challenge of the same size to start over. E8 Signature requires 5 profitable days since your last payout (first payout exempt, a profitable day defined as 0.3%+ of balance) plus a buffer left in the account matching the drawdown amount. E8 Zero has no such gate - no minimum profitable days, no buffer requirement, just clear your payout cap. On accounts purchased after July 14, 2026, only profit generated in the current payout cycle counts toward that payout - unused profit from an earlier cycle doesn't carry forward on either product.

Profit Split

Standard split is 80% to the trader on both products. E8 Zero additionally offers a 100% payout share option at purchase, for a higher upfront price.

Platforms

Both products trade through Tradovate.

What We Don't Have Confirmed Yet

E8's help center doesn't cover hedging policy, a formal prohibited-strategies list, or the full tradable instrument/commission table in the articles we could access. We'd rather flag this than guess - let us know if you have E8's own documentation on these.
