Top One Futures Rules Explained: Drawdown, Daily Loss Limit, Consistency and News Trading
Top One Futures runs four products with their own rule sets. The basics are shared, and the differences sit mostly in consistency, daily loss limits and payout mechanics. Here's how it all works, in the order you'll run into it.
Trading Hours and Overnight Holding
Top One is day trading only. You can trade from 6:00 PM ET to the afternoon close, Monday to Friday, with a one hour break from 5 to 6 PM ET. Overnight and weekend positions aren't allowed. Be flat by 4:00 PM ET to be safe. The platform auto-closes trades at 4:10 PM ET on most accounts, but the Ignite guide says 4:00 PM, so don't cut it close.
Max Loss Limit (Trailing Drawdown)
Every account uses an end of day trailing drawdown. It follows your highest closed balance and never moves down. Break it and the account is closed.
| Size | Elite Daily (funded) | Elite Access (funded) | Instant Sim Funded | Ignite |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $1,000 | $1,000 | $1,000 | $1,000 |
| $50,000 | $2,000 | $2,000 | $2,000 | $2,000 |
| $100,000 | $2,500 | $3,000 | $4,000 | $4,000 |
| $150,000 | $3,500 | $3,500 | $5,250 | $6,000 |
Elite Daily and Elite Access evaluations use slightly bigger drawdowns on the larger sizes. Elite Daily is $3,000 at $100K and $4,500 at $150K, and Elite Access is $3,000 and $4,000. Instant Sim Funded figures are for accounts bought on or after July 27, 2026.
Drawdown Lock
Once your profit reaches the drawdown amount plus $100, the drawdown stops trailing and locks at $100 above your starting balance. On a $50K account that happens at $52,100 and the floor locks at $50,100. After that it won't move, which makes the account much safer to hold. The lock also kicks in after your first payout.
Daily Loss Limit
The Daily Loss Limit works off your previous day's closing balance. If your balance closes at $26,000 and your limit is $625, you're stopped out if equity falls to $25,375 that day.
| Size | Elite Daily | Elite Access (funded only) | Instant Sim Funded | Ignite |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $500 | $500 | $625 | $500 |
| $50,000 | $1,000 | $1,000 | $1,250 | $1,000 |
| $100,000 | $1,250 | $1,250 | $2,500 | $2,000 |
| $150,000 | $1,850 | $1,750 | $3,000 | $3,000 |
Hitting it is a soft breach. Open positions are closed, trading pauses for the rest of the day and the account is fine. Reactivation at the new session can take 5 to 10 minutes. Elite Access has no Daily Loss Limit during the evaluation, which is why it can be passed in a day. The limit does appear once you're funded.
One warning: Top One says the limit is a risk tool and not a stop loss. It can trigger late or fail to trigger in fast markets, and any loss past the limit is on you. Put hard stops on your trades.
Consistency Rules
| Account | Where it applies | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Elite Daily | Evaluation only | Best day under 40% of total profit |
| Elite Access | Funded only | Best day under 40% of total profit |
| Instant Sim Funded | Funded, at each payout | Best day under 20% of total profit |
| Ignite | Funded, at each payout | Best day under 15% of total profit |
Here's what that means in practice. On Ignite, if you want to withdraw on $2,500 of profit, your best single day can't be more than $375. One strong day can push you out of eligibility, and the fix is to keep trading until total profit grows enough to bring your best day under the line. On Instant Sim Funded and Ignite the consistency score resets after each payout.
Profit Targets
Both evaluations (Elite Daily and Elite Access) have a 6% profit target: $1,500 on $25K, $3,000 on $50K, $6,000 on $100K and $9,000 on $150K. Elite Access gives you 30 days to hit it. Instant Sim Funded and Ignite have no evaluation target, but you need to hit a profit target before each payout (see the payout page).
News Trading
News trading is allowed in evaluations, Instant Sim Funded and Ignite. On funded Elite Access and Elite Daily accounts you can't open, close or have a stop or target execute within 2 minutes before or after high impact news. If you trade news events, that's a real limit on those two products.
Copy Trading
Copy trading is allowed, but only between accounts of the same plan and size. On Ignite you can run up to 10 accounts of the same size. You can't copy between different plan types or different sizes, for example Ignite 50K to Instant 50K. Breaking the copy trading policy can end the account and cost you your payouts.
Bots and Trade Duration
Expert advisors and bots aren't allowed. Trades have a 10 second minimum hold time, so high frequency scalping is out.
Account Limits
| Account | Max funded accounts |
|---|---|
| Elite Daily | 5 |
| Elite Access | 10 |
| Instant Sim Funded | 5 |
| Ignite | 10 (same size, for copy trading) |
On the evaluation side, you can buy up to 10 evaluations in any rolling 30 days, and each can be reset up to 12 times in that window.
Resets
Resets are cheap on Elite Access ($35 flat on evaluations). Elite Daily evaluation resets scale with size, and funded resets cost more on both products. Instant Sim Funded and Ignite can't be reset. If you breach one, you buy a new account.
Verification
You'll need to pass KYC before you can access a funded account or request a payout. Plan on getting that done early.
