Take Profit Trader’s help center now says the 60-day clock on profit trapped inside a PRO buffer is trading days, not calendar days.
Key facts
The PRO profit split and withdrawal article was updated on 6 October 2026. Normal withdrawals above the buffer stay at 80/20, and you can request those from day one once the balance clears the buffer. Profit inside the buffer is different. You can only take it when the PRO account is fully closed, and a closed PRO cannot be reset. The split on that trapped profit is 50% if the account was traded for 60 trading days or fewer, and 80% after more than 60 trading days. The article adds that the last day counted is the last trading day on that PRO account.
A rule tracker logged the same edit as a switch from calendar days to trading days. We confirmed the current wording on TPT’s own page. We did not open an archived copy of the old calendar-day sentence, so the before-state rests on that tracker.
The buffer itself is unchanged. It equals the maximum drawdown: $26,500 on a 25K, $52,000 on a 50K, $77,500 on a 75K, $103,000 on a 100K, and $154,500 on a 150K. This is separate from the live-capital cooldown TPT added on PRO+ development, covered here. Firm rules are on the Take Profit Trader page.
What it means for traders
If you were counting 60 calendar days so you could close a PRO and pull the buffer at 80%, that count may now be short. Weekends and days you do not trade do not move the clock. A trader who is active most sessions is looking at roughly three months, not two. Closing the account is still the only way to touch that profit, so the higher split is an exit decision, not a recurring payout.
Our Take
The clarification helps, because a bare “60 days” was easy to misread. It also makes the buffer harder to unlock at the full split. Most PRO traders will never care, because the money they actually withdraw sits above the buffer at 80%. The people this hits are the ones planning to kill the account and sweep what is left underneath it.
