Take Profit Trader Sets Closed PRO Buffer Payout to Flat 50%

Take Profit Trader’s help center now lists a flat 50% payout on profit left inside a PRO buffer when the account is closed. The 80% tier that previously applied after more than 60 trading days is gone.

Key facts
The PRO Account Profit Split & Withdrawal Rules article was updated around 9 October 2026. Normal withdrawals above the buffer remain at the standard 80/20 split and can still start from day one once the balance clears the buffer. Profit trapped inside the buffer is different. You can only take it after the PRO account is fully closed. The current wording is simply: you can withdraw 50% of your Buffer Zone after your account is closed. There is no longer a higher tier for longer-lived accounts.

Earlier, the same page described a 50% split at 60 trading days or fewer and 80% beyond that. We covered that trading-day clarification on 7 October. The higher tier has now been removed. The buffer amounts themselves are unchanged: $26,500 on a 25K, $52,000 on a 50K, $77,500 on a 75K, $103,000 on a 100K, and $154,500 on a 150K.

A closed PRO account still cannot be reset, according to the separate reset rules page. Firm rules are on the Take Profit Trader page. The earlier buffer clock story is here.

What it means for traders
If you planned to run a PRO account past 60 trading days specifically so you could close it and pull the buffer at 80%, that path is closed. The only recovery on trapped buffer profit is now 50%, whenever the account ends. Most day-to-day withdrawals sit above the buffer and are unaffected. The change mainly hits traders who treat a blown or finished PRO as a one-time cash-out event.

Our Take
This is a real tightening of the exit terms on buffer money. The earlier trading-day clarification already made the 80% harder to reach. Removing it entirely makes the buffer even less attractive as a residual claim. Traders who only care about the 80% on profit above the buffer will notice little. Anyone counting on a higher recovery when they close the account will need to reprice that decision.

I’ve been trading for over 5 years, mainly across Indian markets, futures, forex, crypto, and CFDs. Over the years, I’ve traded with a lot of different brokers and prop firms and spent a huge amount of time testing their rules, platforms, pricing, drawdown models, payout systems, and trading conditions.

I’ve been through plenty of failed prop firm challenges myself before eventually figuring out what works for me. That experience has given me a pretty practical understanding of what traders actually deal with when choosing a prop firm or trading platform.

Outside of trading, I work with financial content, SEO, and WordPress. I’ve built websites and tools around trading and finance, tested a wide range of trading tools, and even modified Pine Script indicators on TradingView as a hobby.

I write about prop firms, brokers, crypto platforms, and trading tools with a focus on the things that actually matter to traders, including rules, costs, payouts, and the overall trading experience.
