Topstep has turned four of its Labs experiments into standing products. Traders can now buy the 25K Static, 50K Static, 1.5K Challenge and 250K Freedom accounts any time, with a hard limit of five of each per trader per month.
Chief Strategy Officer Ty D’Amore and Head of Innovation Josh Schwartzberg announced the move on 20 October. The drops that previously sold out in hours are now listed under a permanent Labs menu on the dashboard. The two newest 3K Challenge variants (Undead and Slasher) stay limited-time. See the earlier coverage of the Undead and Slasher drop for the limited-time variants.
Labs started as a place for short-run tests. Static drawdown accounts and the smaller challenge sizes proved popular enough that the firm is keeping them available instead of cycling them in and out. The monthly purchase cap is the main new restriction. It stops any single trader from loading up on the cheaper or more flexible structures.
For traders, the practical change is simple. You no longer have to watch the dashboard for a restock. The static options and the 1.5K and 250K accounts are there when you want them. The five-per-month rule is the trade-off. Full details on the current Topstep plans are on the firm page.
Our Take: This is a sensible cleanup. Permanent availability with a monthly cap is better for most traders than pure scarcity. The static accounts in particular fill a gap that trailing drawdown products leave open.
