CMC Markets has formally launched CMC Funded, a simulated proprietary trading evaluation programme set to open to the public on 1 October.
Key facts
Finance Magnates and FX News Group reported the announcement on 28 September. Every participant gets a $100,000 simulated account with the same pre-set performance targets and risk parameters. Successful traders receive a Verified Trader badge and an interview opportunity through Verichain, an AI recruitment platform that is the programme’s first referral partner. The programme covers a range of global markets, including prediction-market events, through a single simulated account.
CMC Funded operates separately from the listed CMC Markets group. It is not a regulated product of CMC Markets plc. Dubai-based True North Tech is the contractual operator; CMC Markets Singapore is named as the exclusive brokerage partner for marketing, brand and operational support but is not the guarantor. The firm is clear that accounts remain simulated, no client money is held, and no live trades are executed by CMC Markets.
What it means for traders
This is another established multi-asset broker putting its brand behind a simulated prop-style evaluation. The structure is closer to a talent-scouting and recruitment funnel than the classic “pass and get a funded live account” model used by most futures prop firms. Pricing, exact profit targets, drawdown rules and reward terms have not been published yet. Traders interested in the interview pathway or the CMC technology stack will want to watch for the full rulebook when the public launch hits.
Our Take
A FTSE 250 name entering the space raises the industry’s profile, but the legal separation and simulated-only design mean this is not CMC Markets itself underwriting live capital. The Verichain interview angle is the real differentiator so far. Until the evaluation cost, targets and payout mechanics are public, it remains a developing story rather than a ready-to-compare product for futures traders.
