Prop Firm Compare has published its first State of Futures Prop Trading report. US search demand for futures prop firms rose 108% compared with 2024.
The press release went out through GlobeNewswire on 27 October. Across a matched basket of 20 futures prop firm keywords, monthly US searches averaged 11,282 between October 2025 and September 2026, up from 5,420 in 2024. The same measure for forex prop firm keywords fell 10%, from 6,125 to 5,490. Futures keywords now draw roughly 2.1 times the US search volume of the forex basket.
The report looked at 29 active futures prop firms. It found the cheapest available $50,000 evaluation averaged $135 at list price across 27 firms that offer one. Published discounts brought that average to $95. Seven of the 29 firms (24%) started in forex or CFD prop trading before moving into futures. Named examples include FTMO, FundedNext, E8 Markets and Goat Funded Futures. Eleven of the 29 launched in 2023 or later.
The report also notes wide variation in evaluation costs and trading rules, and it calls for more transparency on pass rates and payout outcomes. Prop Firm Compare is a comparison site rather than a prop firm itself, so the numbers are industry-level search and pricing data, not firm-specific performance claims.
For traders, the search numbers track the shift many have already seen: more capital and attention flowing into futures evaluations. The average discounted $50K price of $95 is useful context when a firm advertises a steep percentage off. The youth of many firms and the number that crossed over from forex are reminders that track records are still short for a large part of the market.
Our Take: Search interest is a real signal, not a guarantee of better outcomes. The 108% jump and the 2.1x gap versus forex match the expansion of futures plans we have covered this year. The more useful part of the report for traders is the pricing spread and the transparency call. Pass rates and actual payout volumes remain the harder data to find, and that gap is still the one that matters most when you choose a firm.
