Only plans that publish a stock leverage number show up here. If a firm you like is missing, it either doesn’t offer stocks or doesn’t publish the leverage. Futures firms aren’t in this list because they trade index futures, not single stocks.
Why Stock Leverage Is So Low
Single stocks gap. A company reports earnings after the close and opens 10% lower the next morning, and no stop loss saves you from that. Firms can’t control that risk with drawdown rules alone, so they cap leverage. Stock CFDs also only trade during exchange hours, so liquidity is thin outside the US session.
Low stock leverage sounds bad, but it’s less of a problem than it is on gold. A $50,000 stock position at 1:5 needs $10,000 of margin. On a $100K account that’s workable. On a $10K account it isn’t, and that’s the main thing to plan around.
What to Check Before Trading Stocks on a Prop Account
First, whether you can hold through earnings, because some firms ban it. Then the commission, since stock CFDs often carry one even when forex doesn’t. And finally the stock list itself. Some firms offer 20 big US names, others offer hundreds, and that matters more than a point or two of leverage.

If stocks are a side market for you, pick your firm for forex or indices and treat stock access as a bonus.
