Tradeify Rules Explained: Consistency, Daily Loss Limits, Trading Hours, and Hedging
Tradeify runs three account types — Growth, Select, and Lightning — and while the consistency rules and payout mechanics differ between them, the core trading rules below apply across the board unless noted otherwise.
Trading Hours
All positions must be closed by 4:45 PM ET Monday through Friday, before the daily maintenance break. The market reopens at 6:00 PM ET, Sunday through Thursday, with a maintenance window from 5:00-6:00 PM ET daily. No overnight or weekend holding on any account type, including Live. A Tradeify "trading session" runs the full 6:00 PM ET to 4:45 PM ET stretch — nearly 23 hours — so you can hold a position overnight within a single session, you just can't carry it past the next day's close or over a weekend. If you leave a position open at close, Tradeify auto-closes it for you; this does not fail your account, but you may get an unfavorable fill. Holiday-shortened days close at 12:59 PM ET instead — check Tradeify's Discord for holiday hour announcements.
Consistency Rule by Account Type
| Account Type | Consistency Rule | Applies To |
|---|---|---|
| Growth | 35% | Funded stage — gates payout eligibility |
| Select | 40% (or 50% with the optional Consistency Add-on) | Evaluation only — no consistency rule once funded |
| Lightning | Progressive: 20% (Payout 1), 25% (Payout 2), 30% (Payout 3+) | Funded stage, every payout, for accounts purchased after September 12, 2025 |
The rule: your single biggest day's profit must be at or below your limit as a share of total profit (19.97% meets a 20% rule; only a figure strictly above the limit fails). Formula: Biggest day's profit ÷ consistency % = total profit needed. It only gates when you can request a payout — it never restricts how much you can trade or earn on any given day. Losing days actually hurt your consistency percentage, since they shrink the total-profit denominator. After every approved payout, your consistency resets and you start building toward the next one from zero. Select's optional 50% Consistency Add-on lets a single day count for up to half your total profit, which can shorten the evaluation to as little as 2 trading days instead of 3 — at a higher purchase price.
Daily Loss Limit
The DLL is a soft breach — trading pauses for the rest of the day but your account stays alive, and you're back at it next session (6:00 PM ET). It applies to Growth, Lightning, and Select Daily funded accounts. Select Flex has no DLL at all — only the Trailing Max Drawdown applies. Never use the DLL as a stop loss: it's not a hard stop, and slippage in volatile markets can blow through it straight into your drawdown, which is a real (hard) breach.
| Account Size | Lightning DLL | Growth DLL | Select Daily DLL |
|---|---|---|---|
| $25K | N/A (no DLL) | $600 | $500 |
| $50K | $1,250 | $1,250 | $1,000 |
| $100K | $2,500 | $2,500 | $1,250 |
| $150K | $3,000 | $3,750 | $1,750 |
The DLL grows once you hit 6% profit (effective the next session, not instantly) — it doesn't disappear, it steps up to match your account's drawdown amount:
| Size | Balance That Triggers It | New Lightning DLL | New Growth DLL |
|---|---|---|---|
| $25K | $26,500 | N/A | $1,000 |
| $50K | $53,000 | $2,000 | $2,000 |
| $100K | $106,000 | $4,000 | $3,500 |
| $150K | $159,000 | $5,250 | $5,000 |
Accounts purchased before September 12, 2025 use legacy rules — the DLL is removed entirely at 6% profit rather than increased.
Trailing Max Drawdown
This is the hard breach — hit it and the account fails permanently, no resuming next session. It trails your highest-ever end-of-day balance, recalculated once per day, but is enforced on your live net liquidation value in real time: touching the floor intraday fails the account immediately, even if you'd have recovered by the close. It locks permanently at the trail level for your size and stops moving further once you clear it.
Hedging & Correlated Products
No opposing positions (one long, one short) on the same instrument or on two products from the same Product Group — whether both legs sit in one account or are spread across several of your accounts. Contract size doesn't matter: a mini on one side and a micro on the other still counts as a hedge if the direction opposes.
| Product Group | Symbols |
|---|---|
| Equity Index | ES, MES, NQ, MNQ, YM, MYM, RTY, M2K, EMD, NKD, FDAX, FDXM, FDXS, FESX, FSXE, FXXP |
| Energy | CL, QM, MCL, NG, QG |
| Metals | GC, QO, MGC, SI, HG, PL, PA |
| Currencies | 6E, M6E, 6B, 6J, 6A, M6A, 6C, 6S |
| Interest Rates | FGBL, FGBM, FGBS, FGBX |
| Grains | ZS, ZL, ZM, ZC, ZW |
| Livestock | HE, LE, GF |
| Volatility | FVS (treated as offsetting against a long Equity Index position, since it moves inversely) |
What's allowed: same-direction positions across different products (Long ES + Long NQ), same-direction positions across your own multiple accounts (this is how copy trading works), and mini/micro contracts held together in the same direction (as long as the combined size stays within your contract limit — 10 micros = 1 mini). What's not: opposing directions on the same or correlated products, whether in one account or spread across accounts to disguise it. A hedging violation sets every account involved to violation status, forfeits profits from the violating period, and can mean a permanent ban. Automated detection only triggers a breach when all three conditions hit at once: opposing positions exist, the hedge lasts over 10 seconds, and it generated over $150 in profit — giving you a short window to unwind an accidental opposite entry without penalty.
News Trading
No restrictions — trade any news event on any account type. You trade news at your own risk: slippage can execute orders far from expected prices, and you should never rely on the Daily Loss Limit as a stop loss during high volatility. On funded accounts (not during the evaluation), the microscalping rule applies: over 50% of your trades must be held longer than 10 seconds, AND over 50% of your profit must come from trades held longer than 10 seconds, or you won't be eligible for a payout.
Restricted Countries
Tradeify is unavailable to residents of 58 countries, including (among others) Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Syria, Pakistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Israel, Indonesia, Venezuela, and Vietnam. Restrictions are based on your country of residency, not your current location — a US resident traveling abroad can keep trading normally, but a resident of a restricted country can't trade even while physically elsewhere.
Commissions
All trades carry a per-contract, round-trip commission (covers both entry and exit) charged by the exchange and broker:
| Instrument | Round-Trip Commission |
|---|---|
| ES (E-mini S&P 500) | $5.76 |
| NQ (E-mini Nasdaq) | $5.76 |
| MES (Micro E-mini S&P) | $1.82 |
| MNQ (Micro E-mini Nasdaq) | $1.82 |
| CL (Crude Oil) | $5.66 |
| GC (Gold) | $6.20 |
Trading in micros costs more in total commission than the equivalent mini size — 10 MES contracts run $18.20 versus $5.76 for a single ES contract.
Platforms & Data Fees
You pick one broker at checkout — Tradovate (NinjaTrader + TradingView access), Rithmic (Tradesea, Quantower, Sierra Chart, R|Trader), or WealthCharts (its own standalone platform, separate login) — all priced identically with no platform surcharge. Market data is free as long as you sign Tradovate's Non-Professional Agreement on first login; skipping it risks a $300/month professional data fee. Level 2 and EUREX data are optional paid add-ons, Tradovate accounts only for now.
Bundle Discounts
A 5-account "Bundle and save" option at checkout gives an automatic 5% discount when buying 5 accounts of the same type and size in one order — eligible only on Growth 25K, Growth 50K, Select 25K, and Select 50K. It's all-or-nothing (no 2, 3, or 4-account bundles) and stacks with active promo codes. Lightning and the 100K/150K sizes aren't bundle-eligible.
Refund Policy
All sales are final — no refunds on account purchases, resets, or any other fees. The one exception: if a promo code failed to apply at checkout, that's handled separately through support, not as a refund.
