Futures prop firms don’t give you a leverage number. They give you a contract limit, and that limit is your real buying power. A $50K account that allows 5 minis lets you trade far more size than one that allows 3, with the same drawdown. Contract limits also climb with account size, so the only fair way to compare them is size against size. That’s how this page is set up.
Most Contracts Allowed by Account Size
Each table is sorted by max minis, with micros as the tiebreaker. The stage column shows where that limit applies, since many firms allow more contracts once you’re funded.
$25K Futures Accounts
The cheapest way in. Limits are tight at this size, so a single extra contract makes a real difference to how you can trade.

Why Max Contracts Isn’t the Whole Story
A high contract limit is only useful if your drawdown can carry it. 10 MNQ contracts make or lose $20 per point combined. A 50 point move against you is $1,000. On a $50K account with a $2,000 drawdown, that’s half your room gone on one trade. A bigger limit gives you flexibility, not permission to max it out.
Watch for scaling plans too. Some firms list a high max but only unlock it once you’re in profit by a set amount. The plan page shows the full scaling rules.
Picking a Futures Prop Firm for Size
Start with the account size you want, take the top two or three from that table, then check the drawdown type and scaling rules. A firm with one fewer contract but an end of day drawdown is often easier to trade than one with more contracts and an intraday trailing drawdown.
